    Bolloré Logistics Singapore Launches Pilot Project on Robotic Process Automation

    Bolloré Logistics has launched a pilot RPA project in Singapore to drive productivity and enhance customer service through the automation of key business processes.

    RPA is an application of advanced software and algorithms to complete routine tasks and repetitive operation processes.

    Implemented with the support of Accenture, this pilot project covers multiple aspects of freight forwarding operations, such as the accurate and timely update of transportation timestamps, creation of transportation files within the Transport Management System (TMS), and invoice dispatching to customers.

    The business processes selected for enhancement under this pilot project were previously manually intensive, repetitive, and prone to human error.

    With the implementation of RPA, the original processes are mimicked by software robots that are programmed by one of the market leaders in RPA tools. “With the removal of repetitive and time-consuming tasks, the business process owners can be upskilled to perform higher value added tasks, focusing on client communication, proactive shipment monitoring, and complex coordination,” says Cyril Dumon, CEO Asia-Pacific for Bolloré Logistics.

    Following the successful pilot rollout in Singapore, Bolloré Logistics is looking to expand rapidly the implementation of RPA in the Asia-Pacific region and to extend it to other processes within the organization.

  • Bolloré Logistics Korea Installs an Urban Farm in the Center of Seoul

    Bolloré Logistics Korea Installs an Urban Farm in the Center of Seoul

    Bolloré Logistics Korea recently installed an urban farm on its office rooftop building in Seoul, South Korea, as part of the Group’s initiative to promoting “Green Projects” and protecting biodiversity.

    Urban farming is a practice of growing your own food in the city, with limited space. Bolloré Logistics Korea has transformed the available rooftop space of its 6-floor office building into an urban farm, optimizing current available space resources. This urban farm is split into four parcels and covers a total space of 264 sqm.

    Bolloré Logistics Korea signed an agreement with Pajeori*, a non-profitable organization, to maintain the farm with volunteers from the nearby neighborhood in order to cultivate each a small parcel of the Urban Garden, therefore making it a community base project as well.

    The urban farm is growing organic fruits and vegetables as only natural fertilizers mostly made from rice bran are and will be used. Bolloré Logistics Korea also plans to grow traditional Korean fruits and vegetables which are not always found anymore in big retail stores, as they are difficult to grow and conserve since they require a wide range of unique resources for food and agriculture.

    Some honey plants will also be planted in order to attract pollinators. Back in 2016, Bolloré Logistics Korea sponsored a wooden beehive structure (“Honey Factory”) to create awareness of the vital role of bees in our lives as they are a crucial component of food production and are responsible for a third of the food that we eat.

    Bolloré Logistics Korea looks forward to harvesting the very first crops in the upcoming months.

    Fully in line with the biodiversity action plan put into effect within the Group, Bolloré Logistics’ biodiversity strategy has three fundamental pillars based on the ARC concept (Avoid / Reduce / Compensate):

    • Embracing biodiversity as one of the company’s environmental concerns;
    • Working with customers and suppliers on biodiversity issues and the impact of our activities;
    • Make our sites models for biodiversity, all over the world.
  • First CEIV Pharma Certification in Singapore for Bolloré Logistics

    First CEIV Pharma Certification in Singapore for Bolloré Logistics

    Bolloré Logistics Singapore was successfully awarded by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as CEIV Pharma-compliant at its platform located in the Airport Logistics Park, and is one of the first transport and logistics companies in Singapore to receive this certification. The aim of Bolloré Logistics is to deploy this action throughout its global network with on-going certifications on other sites in Asia-Pacific, including in Australia, Hong Kong and Japan.

    This is a new success for the Bolloré Group, which shows its commitment to achieve the highest international quality standard in the global pharmaceutical supply chain for its customers, by continually improving its processes and infrastructures in compliance with the CEIV Pharma standards.

    With its modern and innovative facilities, the excellence of its quality management system, the expertise of its teams and its multiple certifications, Bolloré Logistics is a major global player in the supply chain of pharmaceutical products. Being certified by IATA CEIV Pharma, Bolloré Logistics Singapore fully conforms to all applicable pharmaceutical standards expected from pharmaceutical manufacturers in terms of facilities, equipment, operations and staff and being capable to provide seamless cool chain transportation.

    This global initiative, already in place on European sites in Paris Roissy CDG (France), Brussels (Belgium), Frankfurt (Germany) and Lisbon (Portugal) is also currently in progress on other sites such as Johannesburg in South Africa or Chicago in the USA. IATA created the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) in 2015. It aims at setting the industrial standard for air cargo supply chain in pharmaceutical handling excellence.

    It addresses the industry’s need for more safety, security, compliance and efficiency, by creating a globally consistent and recognized pharmaceutical product handling certification. CEIV Pharma encompasses – even supersedes – many of the existing pharmaceutical standards and guidelines, such as IATA Temperature Control Regulations (TCR), European Union Good Distribution Practices (EU GDP), World Health Organization Annex 5, and United States Pharmacopeia Standards.

  • Bolloré Logistics Sponsors Honey Factory for Urban Beekeeping in Seoul

    Bolloré Logistics Sponsors Honey Factory for Urban Beekeeping in Seoul

    In an effort to promote the idea of urban beekeeping and to provide information about its environmental benefits, Bolloré Logistics Korea recently sponsored a beehive structure called Honey Factory, in Seoul, South Korea.

    Currently installed in Seoul Children’s Grand Park, it was first introduced in Asia at the 2016 International Conference on Urban Agriculture during The 5th Seoul Urban Agriculture Expo that took place last May 19-22.

    Designed by Italian industrial designer Francesco Faccin, this wooden beehive has a 4.5-meter chimney that keeps curious children safe from the bees. It also protects the bees from harm due to bad weather and helps keeping it at constant temperature with optimal ventilation. Honey Factory is an ideal beehive for city parks as a standard hive can cover a radius of three kilometers.

    The first Honey Factory has also been operating since 2015 installed in the garden of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, Italy, and carries out educational activities as well as producing great urban honey.

    This action is fully in line with the biodiversity action plan put into effect within the Bolloré Logistics Business Unit. Bolloré Logistics’ biodiversity strategy has three fundamental pillars based on the ARC concept (Avoid / Reduce / Compensate):

    (1) Embracing biodiversity as one of the company’s environmental concerns;

    (2) Working with customers and suppliers on biodiversity issues and the impact of our activities;

    (3) Make our sites models for biodiversity, all over the world.

    By sponsoring the first Honey Factory in Asia, Bolloré Logistics hopes to increase efforts to protect bees, as they play a vital role in maintaining biodiversity.
