    The first Puma Select store in the Philippines has opened. The new store launched last month at the Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig and features the brand’s latest product range and collaborations – including high-profile partnerships with Fenty, Ken Lagerfeld, and Rihanna. A statement from the firm said the launch coincides with “the burgeoning streetwear scene in the Philippines”.

    The brand’s website says Puma Select “fuses performance with culture and fashion by revisiting Puma’s rich history and innovation as a leading sports brand, and combining this with our philosophy of creating premium product for the willing consumer”.

    Scotch whisky brand Johnnie Walker has opened a pop-up store in Bonifacio Global City. The first Johnnie Walker pop up in the Philippines, it follows permanent Johnnie Walker Houses in cities including Singapore, Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and Seoul.

    Like the Houses, the Johnnie Walker Manila pop up is designed to immerse customers in the history, provenance, and pioneering spirit of the brand, resembling part lifestyle space and part museum and showcasing the brand’s heritage.

    The Johnnie Walker Manila pop up is located at Burgos Park. Centrestage inside is a ‘highball bar’ where guests can order various Johnnie Walker vintages, blends and cocktails.

    The space doubles as an event space, hosting ‘Johnnie Weekends’ for fans of the brand and exhibitions or shows by photographers, musicians and other artists, guest appearances by celebrated cocktail specialists, and even quiz nights.

    The Johnnie Walker Manila pop up is open from 5pm to 2am on Tuesday through Saturday until October 25, before it is relocated to other locations in Metro Manila, including Greenbelt 3 from November 18 to December 28.

    A more permanent Johnnie Walker House is under consideration for Manila.

    Restaurant/bar/candy shop Sugar Factory American Brasserie has opened at Shangri-La at the Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

    The Philippines is home to the first Sugar Factory Asia outlet, with more regional markets on the horizon.

    Following a soft opening four months ago, the Manila venue was officially launched with an exclusive party for VIPs, celebrities and media. Guests of honour, including Filipino Vice-President Maria “Leni” Robredo, billionaire businessman Fernando Zobel and his wife Kit, and dermatologist/TV personality Dr Vicki Belo, who all walked down a pink carpet.

    Sugar Factory’s menu includes pancakes, salads and burgers, while for adults the bar offers spiked beverages including the brasserie’s signature smoking candy goblets.

    The chain is known for its “couture pops”, sparkly lollipops that have been seen in the hands of such celebrities as Britney Spears, Carmen Electra and Eva Longoria. Other supporters of the restaurant include Charlie Sheen, Katy Perry, Kylie Jenner, Rihanna and Sting.

    International Restaurant Ideas has secured the rights to US restaurant chain Applebee’s Grill and Bar.

    The primary three Applebee’s Philippines eating places will open from subsequent month, the primary in Bonifacio International Metropolis in Manila. GRC president and CEO Archie C. Rodriguez stated the second restaurant will open in Eastwood and the third location isn’t but determined.
