    CEVA Logistics expands global air freight capacity with WUX

    In serving its customers with consistent, reliable air capacity on key trade lanes, CEVA Logistics is launching a new trans-Pacific charter program. The new air cargo charter solution connects Wuxi, China (WUX), to Chicago, U.S. (ORD), offering three flights per week.

    The inaugural charter flight departed from Wuxi to Chicago earlier on 28 March, carrying more than 100 tons of cargo. The Wuxi-Chicago charter is designed to accommodate a diverse range of cargo types, including industrial equipment, electronics, oversized cargo, e-commerce goods, and apparel. As part of the new charter program, CEVA is also offering customers sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) options through its CEVA FORPLANET suite of low carbon transport and circular economy solutions.

    CEVA is offering the charter solution through an agreement with Wuxi Sunan Shuofang International Airport Group. The Wuxi airport provides an inland advantage by easily covering the Yangtze River Delta Economic Development Zone. The ideal logistics hub serves not only global companies with manufacturing sites on the outskirts of Shanghai, but also Chinese companies in industrial, technology and e-commerce sectors.

    Upon arrival in Chicago, cargo can be efficiently distributed across various major U.S. cities thanks to CEVA’s gateway located less than 10 miles from the airport. The 700,000-square-foot air freight warehouse includes an 8,000-square-foot FTZ (Free Trade Zone), a 10,000-square-foot cold storage facility with two chambers, a 180,000-square-foot CFS (Container Freight Station), and a 180,000-square-foot CCSF (Certified Cargo Screening Facility) with ETA, x-ray, and K-9 inspection capabilities.

    Through CEVA’s robust domestic LTL ground transport network, more than 200 weekly linehaul options connect the Chicago gateway with hubs in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Columbus, as well as 70 onward distribution sites across the country, to complete the final domestic delivery in less than 24 to 48 hours. The charter program also provides swift customs clearance and airport handling service, as well as other tailored solutions for cross-border volumes.

    In addition, CEVA’s freight management solutions across Southeast Asia extend the service’s reach to other major cities and manufacturing zones. By offering multi-modal transport options from Southeast Asia to Wuxi, CEVA can offer a broader range of its customers access to the new trans-Pacific air charter solution.

    CEVA Logistics opens a new hub in Malaysia

    CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s largest supply chain management companies, has officially opened a new multi-user facility in Penang, Malaysia. Situated within the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone Phase IV, the 70,000 sq ft facility is only 10 minutes away from the Penang International Airport and 10 minutes from the Penang Bridge, connecting the island to mainland Malaysia.

    This new multi-user warehouse delivers cost efficiency and flexibility through an optimized layout design and improved infrastructure to serve our customers. It includes a combination of temperature-controlled and ambient storage space, conducive and modern office space for in-plant customers, advanced materials handling equipment, advanced RF warehouse management system and Customs stationed on-site to facilitate on-time clearance.  This is also an integrated hub that will house under one roof CEVA’s contract logistics and freight management teams for Malaysia as well as its global supply chain solutions control tower teams who support its 24×7 largest customers globally.

    Ace Turtle, CEVA to enable freight forwarding for international brands in Southeast Asia

    Ace Turtle, Asia’s omni-channel platform company, has partnered with CEVA Logistics to manage global freight forwarding for International brands that Ace Turtle will power through its cross border solution in Southeast Asia.

    Ace Turtle, with its proprietary platform Rubicon which integrates offline and online channels automating and optimising Omni-channel fulfilment for brands will also be enabling cross border commerce solutions for international brands. Ace Turtle’s Cross Border solution will enable brands to reach new customers in newer geographies where the local customers can shop within the same ecosystem of e-commerce which they are used to.

    CEVA will handle international air-freight service, local transportation in origin and destination countries and manage custom clearance for the international brands. Under the agreement, CEVA will provide international freight forwarding services for the following countries, US – Singapore, China – Singapore, China – India, India – Singapore, India – Malaysia, and subsequently from Europe to APAC region.

  • Ceva achieves CEIV certification in Singapore

    Ceva achieves CEIV certification in Singapore

    Ceva Logistics has been awarded IATA’s CEIV status at its facility in Singapore. CEIV is designed to indicate a company or branch’s level of competency as well as operational and technical preparedness in the global transportation by air of pharmaceutical products. A certified pharmaceutical location meets consistent standards and is fully capable of assuring product integrity.

    CEVA staff in Singapore have undertaken a comprehensive training program conducted jointly by IATA and Changi Airport Group, in readiness for certification. A quality team was established at the company’s facility at the Air Logistics Park of Singapore (ALPS) within the Free Trade Zone and this group coordinated and implemented the CEIV process.

    “Our 90,000 sq feet facility is fully accredited for the full range of active and passive temperature ranges,” says Michael Yip, SVP Freight Management of CEVA’s South East Asia cluster. We are the largest user and operator of active RKN e1 equipment outbound from Singapore and this new CEIV status recognises the full scope of our capabilities”.

    CEVA opens an office in Myanmar

    As part of its strategic expansion in the emerging Mekong markets, CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s largest supply chain management companies, has opened its office in Myanmar’s capital, Yangon.

    For the last five years, CEVA has been operational in the country through a network partner, providing freight management services to a number of multinational and local customers.

    Effective June 2017, the company now has its own office, offering the full spectrum of air and ocean freight services with access to the CEVA network using One Freight System (OFS) – CEVA’s global system which manages all freight movements worldwide.

    Myanmar presents considerable potential for growth with strong demand for both import and export services. Imports comprise mainly industrial materials for infrastructure, consumer goods and machinery, whilst exports of commodities, agricultural products and goods for the retail sector drive the outbound trade. With its expertise in the industrial and consumer and retail sectors among others, CEVA is well positioned to offer professional and competitive services.
