    Great Eastern, the insurance division of OCBC, has introduced a new service tailored specifically for high net worth (HNW) individuals and families across Asia.

    Great Eastern Private: A Tailored Experience

    The newly unveiled proposition is named Great Eastern Private. This service aims to bring together custom-designed HNW insurance solutions with a curated panel of expert advice and services spanning seven spheres. These domains encompass next-generation leadership, family advisory and trust services, health and longevity, international tax advisory, legal advisory, philanthropy, and global lifestyle concierge.

    In collaboration with Singapore Management University Executive Development, Great Eastern will conduct a cross-generational family program. This initiative will provide a platform for founders and family members to delve into topics like values, enterprise continuity, leadership transition, and long-term legacy.

    The Hewton Fair Suite: An Exclusive Offering

    Great Eastern is also offering HNW clients access to an exclusive area dubbed the Hewton Fair Suite, a nod to the company’s founder Alfred Hewton Fair. This premium space will feature on-site medical services in collaboration with Raffles Medical Group.

    CEO of Great Eastern, Greg Hingston, commented on the new proposition. He noted that as clients successfully amass wealth, the focus is now shifting to the careful and effective preservation and transfer of wealth. Great Eastern Private, he said, is a strategic move to invest in capabilities and services that meet this evolving customer need.     New Zeeland among world’s technology elite

    New Zealand is among the world’s stand out digital economies, according to the Digital Evolution Index 2017 launched yesterday by The Fletcher School at Tufts University and Mastercard.

    The research tracks the progress countries have made in developing their digital economies and integrating connectivity into the lives of billions – and put New Zealand with a group of digital elites – characterised by high levels of digital development and a fast rate of digital evolution.

    “We all know technology can do more to improve economies and make our lives better, but growth is only achievable if everyone has confidence in the developing ecosystem,” said Ajay Bhalla, president, global enterprise risk & security, Mastercard. “In our pursuit of a truly connected world, trust and security are critical to successful digital development.”

    With nearly half of the world’s population online, the research examined the development of 60 countries, demonstrating their competitiveness and market potential for further digital economic growth. The Index measures four key drivers and 170 unique indicators to chart each country’s respective course:

    •         Supply (or internet access and infrastructure)
    •         Consumer demand for digital technologies
    •         Institutional environment (government policies/laws and resources)
    •         Innovation (investments into R&D and digital start-ups etc.)

    “Adoption, the quality of digital infrastructure and institutions, and innovation collectively shape a country’s digital competitiveness, but governments also play a key role,” said Bhaskar Chakravorti, senior associate dean of international business & finance at The Fletcher School at Tufts University. “The report also found that consumers’ trust in digital technologies correlates with digital competitiveness.”

    According to their overall digital evolution scores, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and the United States make the top ten list of advanced digital economies.

    The research found developed countries including in Western Europe, the Nordics, Australia and South Korea have a history of strong growth, but their momentum is slowing and are at risk of falling behind. Countries such as South Africa, Peru, Egypt, Greece and Pakistan face significant challenges, constrained both by low levels of digital advancement and a slow pace of growth.

    The Elite x3, for those unfamiliar, features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, a 5.96-inch WQHD AMOLED display, 4GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a 4150mAh battery. As for the cameras, HP has included a 16MP sensor on the back of the Elite x3, and there’s an 8MP front-facing camera. For security, HP has included a fingerprint scanner and an Iris scanner on the Elite x3. Lastly, it is worth noting that the HP Elite x3 also supports Continuum for phones which users can use with the HP Desk Dock.

    Garuda Indonesia unveils new Business Class

    The layout of Garuda Indonesia’s new Business Class with Super Diamond Seats is unveiled in this Garuda photo. The Airbus A330-300 is configured with 24 Business Class seats and 263 Economy Class seats.

    Garuda Indonesia has unveiled its new Business Class service following the arrival of its latest Airbus A330-300 aircraft on Monday.

    The aircraft, which is the first of four Airbus A330-300s that will be delivered in 2016, features 24 and 263 Business and Economy Class seats, respectively.

    The former, dubbed Super Diamond Seats,  offer an all-aisle configuration (1-2-1), fully flat-bed seat, adjustable arm-rest, head-rest, meal table and reading light, integrated baby bassinet stowage, new mini bar display, 16-inch LCD touchscreen with a touchscreen handset/remote, double USB plug and power outlet.

    “Garuda Indonesia is the first airline in the world to implement the Super Diamond Seat Business Class service on its A330-300 aircraft; as opposed to competitors who implement it only on their A350 aircraft,” said Garuda Indonesia president and CEO Arif Wibowo in a press release on Monday.

    Meanwhile, passengers sitting in Economy Class seats can expect new features such as a 4-inch articulating recline ability, foot-rest, 11-inch LCD touchscreen, USB plug and power outlet.

    The national flag carrier also received the delivery of its last Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on Monday, of a total of 10 that were ordered in 2013. Configured with a 393-seat capacity, the 10th aircraft consists of 26 Business Class seats and 367 Economy Class seats.

    Six out of 10 Boeing 777-300ERs operated by Garuda Indonesia are equipped with First Class service, with eight First Class seats, 38 Business Class seats and 268 Economy Class seats.

    As part of Garuda’s fleet revitalization program, the airline is set to receive 16 new aircraft in total throughout this year, consisting of the one Boeing 777-300ER, four Airbus A330-300s, four ATR72-600s and eight Airbus A320s to be operated by Citilink.

    By the end of 2016, Garuda Indonesia Group expects to operate a total of 188 aircraft; 144 aircraft by Garuda Indonesia and 44 aircraft by Citilink.
