F&N Magnolia Launches Sanrio Ice Confection Line Across Singapore

F&N Magnolia rolled out a limited-edition strawberry and yoghurt ice confection across Singapore retail channels on September 3, priced at S$2.20 for single sticks and S$8.40 for four-packs.

The launch pairs the heritage dairy brand with Sanrio characters My Melody and Kuromi across impulse and take-home formats. Alongside the stick multipacks, the company introduced a repackaged My Melody and Kuromi raspberry ripple ice cream tub priced at S$6.42.

    Channel Distribution and Pricing

F&N split the product formats by channel to target distinct shopping occasions. Convenience stores carry the single-serve stick line at S$2.20, while leading supermarket operators stock the four-stick multipacks at S$8.40 and the redesigned tubs at S$6.42. All items carry halal certification to serve the broader domestic market.

To drive basket size in grocery aisles, the brand attached a gift-with-purchase promotion running through the end of October 2026. Shoppers who buy two multipacks receive a branded travel organiser set valued at S$19.90, subject to stock availability.

    Character Licensing in Dairy Retailing

Packaged food manufacturers across Southeast Asia rely heavily on co-branded character tie-ups to drive short-term volume in crowded freezer cabinets. Licensing recognizable IP allows legacy dairy labels to capture younger demographics and impulse buyers without reformulating entire permanent portfolios.

The promotion runs across participating supermarket chains until October 31, 2026, or until premium gift stocks are exhausted.

F&N Expands NutriWell Line with Pistachio Chocolate Oat Milk

Fraser and Neave launched NutriWell Pistachio Chocolate Oatmilk in Singapore this week, adding a flavored nut-and-grain blend to its packaged wellness beverage portfolio.

The formulation pairs dairy-free oat milk with pistachio and chocolate flavoring, positioning the product directly at shoppers looking for plant-based indulgence.

    Flavour Blends in Plant Milk

NutriWell formulated the new release entirely free of dairy to cater to lactose-intolerant consumers and vegan shoppers. The recipe pairs oat milk with pistachio, a flavour that has gained rapid traction across regional bakery, ice cream, and specialty coffee menus over the past twelve months.

Packaged in ready-to-drink cartons, the drink provides an alternative to conventional chocolate cow milk and plain soya drinks. F&N designed the line to sit in chilled retail cabinets alongside standard dairy items rather than specialty vegan shelves.

Chilled Dairy Alternatives in Southeast Asia

Regional beverage makers across Southeast Asia have shifted away from plain soy and almond bases toward composite grain formulations. Major bottlers now combine oat bases with dessert-inspired profiles to protect shelf space as standard plant milk volumes plateau in mature supermarket channels.

Retail distribution is rolling out across Singapore supermarkets and convenience outlets this month, with regional channel expansion across Malaysia scheduled for the following quarter.

  • Big C to open in Malaysia

Big C to open in Malaysia

Thai Hypermarket Big C appears to be preparing to enter Malaysia. According to several websites, Fraser and Neave, a subsidiary of billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi’s TCC Group, is in the process of completing local regulatory requirements through Ministry of International Trade and Industry to prepare for the launch of Big C Malaysia.

The target opening date has not been confirmed.

However, the first Big C Malaysia Supercentre is expected to be located in Kedah in northwest Malaysia, near the Thai border.

Big C currently operates in Thailand, Vietnam and Laos.

Many Malaysians reportedly cross the border into Thailand to shop at the Big C hypermarket in Hat Yai, in Thailand’s south, giving the company confidence its offer would be popular among residents of its neighbouring country.
