Teaming with Ksubaka and its network of 280 playSpots located in 140 FairPrice stores across the country, over 110k shoppers stopped to learn about Barilla during the one month campaign.

Ksubaka makes engaging interactive branded experiences that are fun, informative and rewarding. These branded experiences are displayed on its media network of touch screen playSpots, which are located in high footfall retail locations. All shopper activity is monitored in real-time giving unparalleled granular insight into the effectiveness of the campaigns.

For the Barilla ‘Pasta Loves Sauce’ campaign shoppers used a Pasta Recipe Finder designed by Ksubaka to discover different pasta recipes. The recipe could then be sent to the their mobile via SMS, along with the ingredients list so they could go shopping. If they purchased a Barilla product they were entered into a prize draw to win spa vouchers.

“Barilla gave hundreds of thousands of shoppers their perfect Italian pasta recipe, through a fun and branded interactive solution; thanks to Ksubaka’s unique in-store experience! The campaign results are stronger than our expectations and rank high from customer interaction point of view and we are looking to build and extend our relationship with Ksubaka,”said, Gupte Nikhil, Managing Director – South East Asia at Barilla Group

The campaign outperformed all pre-campaign KPI’s engaging a large number of shoppers across the country and successfully raising Barilla profile in-store, especially with shoppers that prioritize high quality pasta.

“The Barilla campaign clearly demonstrates our ability to reach shoppers at mass scale in a very short period of time. Our irresistible, engaging and fun branded games offer a new medium for brands to connect with their target audience.” Said, Julian Corbett, CEO and founder, Ksubaka.

  • The world’s largest ‘hands-on’ interactive product launch

The world’s largest ‘hands-on’ interactive product launch

Ksubaka today revealed the results of the world’s largest hands-on experiential product launch for Milka chocolate brand. In just one month more than 12.4 million consumers had a physical interaction with Milka, learning about the product, its ethos and forming an emotional connection.

As part of its launch Mondelez China appointed Ksubaka to devise, create and execute a campaign that would get noticed on a scale never seen before. Ksubaka’s media network of 7000+ touch screen playSpots located in over 130 cities across China were used to deliver an in store interactive branded mini game. Consumers were encouraged to learn about the key attributes and history of Milka chocolate through the power of play. To complete the experience shoppers were invited to interlock fingers with a friend (or stranger) to make a Milka chocolate bar, this created a special moment of ‘Tenderness’. Consumers were then encouraged to take a picture and share their moment of tenderness through social channels (and 5,700 did on Weibo) for a chance to visit the origin of Milka – The Alps.

    In just 30 days (October 1st 2016 – October 31st 2016), the campaign has delivered astonishing results;

    • 12.4 Million Shoppers Engaged with the game
    • 299 Million Milka Brand Exposures
    • 81,309 WeChat/Weibo codes scans and shares

“Ksubaka’s unique experiential campaign, at massive scale, has delivered amazing brand emotion and physical interaction, perfectly fitting with Milka’s brand ethos, that Tenderness is Inside,” said, Stephen Maher, President of Mondelez, China.

“Brands have always struggled to engage with consumers at the point of purchase, combine that with the pressure online advertising faces to justify its self administered metrics and the opportunity for a new platform that addresses these issues is vast. Our rapidly growing media network is the first to deliver real-time results at the point of purchase at massive scale. Working with Mondelez we have significantly moved the bar to what is expected from a consumer experiential engagement campaign – in just one month millions of consumers have had a physical interaction with Milka, this is the benchmark!” said Julian Corbett, CEO and founder, Ksubaka.

As one of the billion dollar brands of the Mondelēz International family, Milka chocolate, which originated in the European Alpine area in 1901, is widely popular among customers in more than 30 countries. It is Milka’s insistence on using pure milk sourced from the Alpine areas that has enabled Milka chocolate’s tender taste to last for over a hundred years. Mondelēz China has attached great importance to Milka chocolate as a brand new category in the China market.

  • Ksubaka’s media network surpasses 5,000 playSpots installed across China

Ksubaka’s media network surpasses 5,000 playSpots installed across China

Ksubaka today announced that it has broken through the 5,000 barrier of installed playSpots across China. Ksubaka has the fastest growing direct-to-consumer media network in China with over 10 million shoppers engaging with the network each month. Importantly for brands, each shopper is engaged with a bespoke interactive experience for over one minute.

Ksubaka’s media network addresses the issue of how to connect with consumers at the physical point of purchase – in-store. Interactive kiosks called ‘playSpots’ provide fun mini games that take the consumer on a branded game journey. Key brand messages and information are played out through game play with rewards and offers redeemable once the session has been completed. A typical fun game session lasts for one minute – Ksubaka calls this a ‘Moment of Joy’ (MoJo). Games are provisioned to the network over-the-air.

To support Ksubaka’s rapidly growing network of playSpots is a sophisticated real-time analytics platform providing campaign owners with deep data-driven insight into activity results. Campaigns can be tweaked and optimised in a matter of minutes across the entire network, providing full control and a level of understanding, right at the point of purchase. Ksubaka’s network provides an opportunity for brands which was never previously available. The likes of Coca-Cola, Colgate, Head & Shoulders, Kellogg’s and many others are already taking this opportunity to better engage in-store with consumers.

“Our rapid roll out across Asia and unique ability to connect with consumers at the moment when they are in ‘purchase mode’ gives us one of the most powerful new media networks available to brands and retail,” said Julian Corbett, CEO and Co-Founder, Ksubaka. “Brands get access to incredible engagement stats, which are both reliable and meaningful, and significantly a demonstrable uplift in sales. The feedback we get from retailers is that shoppers play and afterwards they have a smile on their face. We are creating Moments of Joy for shoppers and brands alike.”

  • Ksubaka’s PlaySpots Deliver Friso Gold Engagement Campaign

Ksubaka’s PlaySpots Deliver Friso Gold Engagement Campaign

Ksubaka today announced that it has successfully delivered an interactive in-store engagement campaign in CRV, WuMart and MerryMart retail stores in China for Friso Gold.

    The objectives:

The campaign objectives were to attract in-store shoppers to a Friso Gold interactive experience and communicate to mums that Friso helps prevent heat and constipation in babies because the Friso Gold molecules are smaller and easier to digest.

Equally as important, was to collect data through an onscreen shopper survey to verify that the Friso Gold Interactive Experience was effectively reaching the target audience and educate new potential customers about the product benefits.

    The campaign experience:

Ksubaka designed a Friso Gold interactive experience, which was provisioned over-the-air to 231 playSpots across 37 retail stores (comprising a mix of CRV, WuMart and MerryMart) within the Ksubaka media network. The gameplay involved catching as many small Friso molecules as possible within 30 seconds, while avoiding the larger molecules falling from a competitor’s product. Shoppers caught the molecules by moving a baby back and forth on bottom of the screen. To emphasise the difference between small and large molecules, when the baby caught the Friso molecules they smiled and raised their hands in happiness and when they caught the large molecules the frowned and cried.

At end of the gameplay, key product messages were reiterated along with a pack shot and the shopper was offered a 1 for 1 discount by scanning a WeChat QR Code to get a coupon. The short survey was then displayed on-screen asking shoppers for a little information on their preferences.

    The results:

Working to a set of agreed KPIs, the Ksubaka Friso Gold 31 day campaign delivered:

    • Campaign Exposures – 4.4 million +193% on KPI
    • Shopper Impressions – 6.6 million +200% on KPI
    • Mojo engagement – 82K +64% on KPI (Mojo is a completed shopper brand engagement that ends at the reward screen)
    • Total number of surveys completed 1.3k

“The Friso Gold campaign is an excellent example of how Ksubaka is able to drive mass consumer engagement at the point of purchase while, at the same time, giving live and meaningful insight for brands,” said Julian Corbett, CEO and founder, Ksubaka.
