Nescafe expands Espresso Concentrate range with Rich Caramel version

Nescafe, the global coffee brand, has expanded its Espresso Concentrate collection with the introduction of a new flavour, ‘Rich Caramel.’ This new addition, characterized by a robust and distinctive caramel taste, is versatile and ideal for the creation of barista-style caramel frappes and sweet iced lattes at home.

    New Flavour Joins the Range

Nescafe’s Rich Caramel variant joins the already popular Sweet Vanilla and Black varieties in the Espresso Concentrate line. Melissah Toomey, Chief Marketing Officer of Nescafe, stated that the brand’s prior experimentation with caramel flavours has been met with considerable success. The Nescafe Caramel Latte, for instance, stands as the best-selling item amongst all their flavoured product offerings.

    Availability

The Rich Caramel flavour is presently on sale at Woolworths and local retailers. Plans are also underway to make the product available for purchase at Coles in the coming month.

Nescafe USA launches coffee concentrate concept

Nescafe USA has expanded its product range with the launch of its first-ever liquid coffee concentrate, Nescafe Espresso Concentrate.

Made from 100 per cent Arabica beans, the coffee concentrate is available in two flavours: Black and Sweet Vanilla. It can be served over ice or mixed with milk or water.

The Nescafe Espresso Concentrate was successfully launched last year in Australia and China.

Felipe Acosta, the senior brand manager for Nescafe, said the new format is designed to provide consumers with an easier way to create cafe-style drinks at home.

“While the tastes of Gen Z and millennial consumers are constantly evolving, the demand for cold, convenient, customisable, and cafe-quality coffee remains strong,” said Acosta.

The company says two out of three youth globally regularly drink cold coffee drinks.

“The brand’s first-ever liquid espresso empowers consumer creativity, allowing adventurous coffee lovers to make beverages in an instant – without the need for any extra machinery, all from the comfort of their own homes.”

Nescafe Espresso Concentrate comes in a 300ml bottle – enough for about 20 cups of espresso when prepared as directed – and has an RRP of US$9.49.

Nestle Japan has extended its offering from coffee to music as part of a promotional event for its Nescafe Gold Blend Barista instant coffee.

Designed like a coffee mug and about 3.5m high and 3m wide, the Pythagorean involves a wooden ball being released into a staircase-shaped maze. Christmas carols play as the ball rolls downward, striking tuned xylophone steps. The contraption comprises 180 xylophone keys and 1450 individual parts. It took about five months to build, using laser machining and other cutting-edge technologies.

By using an app, customers at the Nescafe Harajuku outlet can choose an emoticon that befits their mood. A bird character then appears on the screen, and while their coffee is being made, the ball is released to play one of three Christmas tunes.

They discovered machinery including four mixing machines, four packaging machines and 19 sacks of mixed instant coffee awaiting packaging, falsely branded Nescafe 3-in-1.  More than 89,000 sachets of fake instant coffee destined for distribution were seized, along with 280,000 empty packs.

The factory was staffed by nine foreign migrant workers, including four Laos nationals.

Police are now trying to track down the man running the factory, believed to be from Chiang Rai.

Once caught he will be charged with producing and selling bogus food products and with producing and selling foods with unlicensed labels. The penalty, if convicted, is a prison term of up to 10 years and a fine of up to 100,000 baht ($3000).

  • Capsule coffee sales boom in Korea

Capsule coffee sales boom in Korea

As more people enjoy their own coffee at home or at work, sales of capsule coffee machines are going through the roof.

Nescafe Dolce Gusto, the largest capsule coffee machine provider in Korea, announced this week that sales of its capsule coffee machines in the first quarter this year rose 73.4 per cent over the same period of the previous year.

However, during the same period, sales of automatic espresso machines and filter coffee machines saw increases of only 15.6 per cent and 3.5 per cent respectively.

Market watchers believe the rising popularity of capsule coffee machines is the product of consumer demand for both taste and convenience. In particular, they attributed the rise in sales to a tendency among consumers to enjoy reasonably-priced coffee at home instead of splurging on expensive beverages at popular coffee shops, a change brought on by financial restraint in the midst of a period of economic uncertainty.

An official at Nescafe Dolce Gusto said: “In the early stages of the Korean capsule coffee market, newly-wed couples led the way. Now, with a variety of products in terms of price and design, more and more people are showing interest.”

Meanwhile, Nescafe Dolce Gusto is offering a trade-in promotion giving a 50 per cent discount on its new capsule coffee machine to those who exchange their old coffee machine, until June 14.
