    Ducati Resumes Factory Tours At Borgo Panigale

    Guided tours inside the Ducati Factory have resumed from October 2021, after having been discontinued due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Ducati Museum re-opened with pandemic safety regulations in place in May 2021, but the factory had not been open for tours, until now. Visitors during the factory tour will have the opportunity to walk through the production lines, observing what goes inside the factory where Ducati motorcycles are created. The tours are guided and can be booked on Mondays and Fridays of each week.

    Three separate morning tour slots are open, as well as three-afternoon slots. Online booking is on the dedicated platform for both factory tours and Museum visits. In order to ensure the safety and health protection of visitors and workers, access to the facility will be possible by reservation only during the hours indicated with a limited number of entries. The presentation of a valid EU Digital COVID Certificate is mandatory, with the exception of children under 12 years and people unfit for a vaccination with a medical certificate, Ducati announced in a press statement.

    The ticket for the Ducati Museum tour is 17 Euros (around ₹ 1,840), while a combined Museum and Factory tour ticket is for 32 Euros (approximately ₹ 2,785), and will be a day-long tour.     Ducati Panigale V2 India Launch Date Revealed

    Ducati India has revealed that the Ducati Panigale V2 will be launched in India on August 26, 2020. The Panigale V2 will be the first Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) compliant Ducati bike to be launched in India. It will replace the Panigale 959 and is designed in a way that it resembles its elder sibling, the Panigale V4. The fairing has been redesigned and the headlamp cluster has been slightly tweaked as well. The other substantial change is that the Panigale V2 now gets a single-sided swingarm like the Panigale V4 while the 959 Panigale had a conventional swingarm.

    The Ducati Panigale V2 gets a 955 cc super-Quadro L-twin motor that makes 155 bhp at 10,750 rpm and has a peak torque output of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The peak power and torque go up by 5 bhp and 2 Nm. The USP is that the motorcycle has a dry weight of just 176 kg, which means the power to weight ratio will be incredible. The engine is Euro V or BS6 compliant and gets a few new components as well.

    The electronics package includes 6-axis inertial measurement-assisted traction control, called the Ducati Traction Control EVO 2, wheelie control, and cornering ABS and ABS. There is a bi-directional up/down quick-shifter as well along with engine braking control. There are three riding modes on offer, which are Race, Sport and Street. The settings for each riding mode can be adjusted via the new 4.3-inch TFT instrument console.

    The new Panigale V2 gets Showa Big Piston Forks upfront, a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear, with a steering damper. The electronic suspension is not offered on the Panigale V2. The travel for the front and rear suspension is 120 mm and 130 mm respectively. Braking is handled by Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers and Brembo master cylinders with twin 320 mm discs on the front wheel. The front and the rear get a 5-spoke alloy 17-inch alloy wheel. The front wheel is wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II 120/70 ZR17 rubber while the rear wheel gets a fatter Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II 180/60 ZR17 unit.

    Ducati CEO Hints At Panigale V4 Streetfighter

    Is Ducati planning to introduce a naked version of the Panigale V4 superbike? That’s the question that’s been doing the rounds for some time now, especially after a custom-built naked Ducati Panigale V4 was unveiled by Italian design house Officine GP. That custom naked, called the V4 Penta, isn’t an official Ducati creation, but now Ducati Motor Holding’s CEO Claudio Domenicali himself has hinted that a production naked version of the Panigale V4 may indeed be in the works. Domenicali didn’t exactly spell out that a naked V4 is under production, but his cryptic remarks in an interview have led to speculation that a naked version of the Panigale V4 may indeed be in the making.

    In an interview with Swiss website Acid Moto, the Ducati CEO talked about future plans of the company, including plans of an electric model from Ducati. But Domenicali revealed little and denied reports that a supersport V4 was in the works. When asked about the possibility of a streetfighter-style model based on the Panigale V4 engine, instead of replying to the question, Domenicali replied with another question.

    “Do you think Ducati should produce such a bike?” he asked. When the interviewers replied in the affirmative, and said “yes” to that question, which led Domenicali to conclude that “It will therefore be made as soon as possible!” Now, this doesn’t necessarily confirm whether Ducati has plans to make the V4 streetfighter, or if it’s already under production. But his comments certainly are interesting, more so because just around a month ago, a custom stripped down V4 was unveiled by Officine GP. The V4 Penta as it’s called, was not a Ducati commissioned build, but it certainly gives Ducati the chance to gauge market reaction, and it seems a naked V4 could see production sooner than later.

    2019 Ducati Panigale V4 R Spotted

    The Ducati Panigale V4 R is the downsized, 1,000 cc version of the Ducati Panigale V4, and will be Ducati’s weapon of choice in superbike racing for some time now. The current Panigale V4’s 1,194 cc engine overshoots the displacement limit for the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) for four-cylinder models, so an engine meeting the WSBK homologation requirements was imminent. Latest spy shots show exactly such an example of the V4 R undergoing test runs at an undisclosed location. The bike seen in the spy pictures appear to be the race-spec variant of the new model, although Ducati will certainly introduce a road-legal model of the V4 R as well.

    The spy shots reveal that the V4 R has a different fairing design than the Panigale V4, with a pair of gill-like openings on the side (quite like the BMW S 1000 RR). The fairing also has a number of mounting points that may be used for adding winglets which are now allowed for WSBK racing. Also seen is a dry clutch on the test bike, although this clutch could only be available on the race-spec bike, rather than the street bike. The test bike also sports lightweight magnesium-forged Marchesini wheels, and what seem to be Brembo brakes. The spy shots also reveal a reworked exhaust system which seems to be more compact than the stock exhaust system on the current Panigale V4.

    So far, there’s no indication when the V4 R will be launched and what its pricing will be. The production-spec model of the Ducati Panigale V4 R is expected to be unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan next month, followed by the model’s launch in Europe. We expect Ducati India to introduce the road version of the V4 R in India sometime next year.
