  • WhatsApp could add a new sticker-related feature very soon

WhatsApp could add a new sticker-related feature very soon

WhatsApp is testing new features all the time, but the best news is many users have access to new functionalities if they’re willing to enroll in the beta program. One such new feature will make it easier to find stickers and sticker packs in WhatsApp.

Spotted recently by WABetaInfo, the feature adds a text field to the sticker keyboard, allowing users to search for stickers from the dedicated store by simply writing what they’re looking for.

This works both for individual stickers and packs, but the new feature has only been spotted in the Android version of WhatsApp beta for the time being. Specifically, the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.11.5 includes this feature, but since it’s still in development, it might not show up for beta testers yet.

The ability to search for stickers is a continuation of the work that WhatsApp has been putting into making stickers one of the app’s highlights. A few updates ago, WhatsApp released a feature that introduces new sticker creation shortcuts, allowing users to generate personalized and AI-powered stickers.

The newly discovered sticker-related feature is likely to be rolled out to everyone in the coming weeks since it doesn’t seem to be too complicated to implement. Hopefully, it will be available on both iOS and Android platforms.

  • Instagram replaces swipe up gesture for sharing links with stickers

Instagram replaces swipe up gesture for sharing links with stickers

Instagram started to test a new way to share links for its users several months ago, but not many people have had access to the feature until recently. Starting this week, the so-called “link stickers” will be rolled out to all Instagram users on both Android and iOS platforms.

The link stickers are meant to replace the “swipe up” gesture for sharing links, which will be retired. Here is what you’ll have to do, to add a link to an Instagram story:

    • Capture or upload content to your story
    • Select the sticker tool from the top navigation bar
    • Tap the “Link” sticker to add your desired link and tap “Done”
    • Place the sticker on your story — like our other stickers — and tap on the sticker to see color variations

Instagram also hinted at future tweaks that the sticker might get, such as various customization options to make it clear what someone will see when they tap a link. If you don’t see the ability to add links in Stories yet, make sure to update your Instagram app to the latest version. Also, keep in mind that link stickers cannot be used on the main Instagram feed, they’re limited to Stories.

  • WhatsApp now lets you import third-party sticker packs

WhatsApp now lets you import third-party sticker packs

For those of you who will agree with WhatsApp’s updated privacy policy so that you can still be able to use the app, here is one new feature that’s coming to you in the next few days. For a very long time, WhatsApp only allowed customers to use the sticker packs available through its app.

However, that’s about to change very soon, as WhatsApp is now rolling out a new feature that will allow users of its app to import third-party sticker packs. WaBetaInfo discovered that WhatsApp is testing such a feature many months ago, and now they’re reporting that the company is finally rolling it out to users in select countries.

For the time being, the option to import third-party sticker packs is only available in Brazil, India, and Indonesia, but you have to update WhatsApp to version 2.21.5.6 Android beta and 2.21.40 iOS. It’s probably going to be made available in other countries in the coming days, so be patient if you’re not living in one of these countries.
