    Brazilian Flip Flops Brand Enters Suzhou Jiuguang

    Brazil’s well-known flip flops brand Ipanema opened a new store in Jiuguang Department Store, Suzhou, which is reportedly Ipanema’s seventh store in the city.

    Established in 2001, Ipanema provides four major series of products, including women’s products, men’s products, children’s products, and brand-partnered products; and its product lines cover flip flops, sandals, and slippers.

    The company started expanding into international markets in 2003 and over the following ten years, Ipanema became a popular high-end sandals brand in over 90 countries with its unique designs and comfortable products.

    Ipanema’s sandals are mainly made from PVC materials and processed with a special soft rubber compound technology.

    At the same time, 99% of its materials are claimed to be recyclable, which meets the environmental standard of developed countries. The brand will launch new products each season and about 400 new products are available annually.

    Ipanema’s manufacturer is the large sandals maker Grendene. Grendene was founded in Farroupilha in 1971 and it currently has 13 large factories and over 30,000 employees.

    The company is a large group enterprise which integrates material production, abrasives development, design, and brand management.

    At present, Ipanema products are well received in countries like United States, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, India, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Paraguay, and Mexico.

    Aigle, a French outdoor leisure brand with a history of over 100 years, has opened a store in Jiuguang Department Store, Suzhou.

    Founded in 1853, Aigle is sells leisure jackets and rain boots with both fashionable designs and functions. Its classic works include the handmade rubber boots “Miss Juliette” and “Miss Julie”. The brand entered the Chinese market in 1998, with the Chinese sportswear brand Lining as its agent.

    As a master brand of handmade rubber boots, Aigle’s craftsmanship is over 100 years old. The materials of its rain boots are all from rubber plantations in Southeast Asia and Africa, featuring unique molecular structures to ensure superior durability and tear resistance. Even in extremely cold conditions, they can still provide unparalleled comfort and flexibility.

    In regards to functional casual clothing, Aigle used new patterns in its Full Summer series of the latest season. It added linen shirts, oriental cherry blossom patterns, and sailing elements like anchors in its details.

    Jia Plus Taiwan opens in Suzhou

    Chinese homewares company Jia has opened its first store in Taiwan.

    Jia Plus Taiwan opened this week in Shin Kong Place, Suzhou. It features a curated collection of home and kitchen wares sourced from its own portfolio, along with European brands including Italesse Italian cutlery, Denmark’s Menu, German cutlery label Mono and French wine accessories maker L’Atelier du Vin.

    The Chinese retailer says the store aims to provide “a guide to a better life”.

    “Starting off from the kitchen essentials, Jia aims to unify Hong Kong’s civilisation, Taiwan’s creativity and China’s cultures into one important Chinese [statement] to the world,” said Jia founder Christopher Lin.

    “And that nothing is greater than food – the most basic necessity for everyday people. At the same time, Jia designs splendid homeware products and successfully establishes the brand as the leading Chinese design brand in the international homeware market, showing the world the cumulative synergy that Chinese culture has to offer.”

    The new store features a garden on the ground floor designed by Taiwanese architect An Yu Qian, inspired by journeys on the Silk Rd.Jia Plus’ open space concept features intertwined metal bars and earth-toned wood. The products are grouped by category.
