    Wirecard teams with Singtel for virtual Visa card

    Wirecard has teamed up with Singtel to support the recent deployment of Singapore’s first Visa virtual card for Singtel’s mobile wallet Dash.

    Singtel Dash is an all-in-one digital wallet that allows customers to shop, pay transport fares and remit money.

    Since the launch of the Visa virtual account last month, Singtel Dash’s 500,000 customers have been using their mobile phones to make payments in over 50,000 PayWave-enabled merchants across Singapore and use the payment platform to shop at Singapore-based e-commerce stores.

    “We are very proud to be a partner for Singapore’s leading digital wallet,” Wirecard EVP of global financial services Grigoriy Kuznetsov said.

    “Singtel can now process mobile virtual Visa payments with Wirecard as a Bank Identification Number (BIN) sponsor. This further reinforces our position as a leading global prepaid issuer and BIN sponsor. It also demonstrates our state-of-the-art card processing capabilities.”

    “Singtel Dash has gained more traction as a payment option of choice. With the adoption of Wirecard’s card processing solution, our customers can now make hassle-free mobile virtual Visa payments,” Singtel head of mCommerce consumer Singapore Gilbert Chuah said.

    JCB International and CIMB Bank Singapore with Wirecard

    JCB, the international operations subsidiary of JCB, CIMB Bank Singapore (“CIMB”), and Wirecard AG (“Wirecard”) are pleased to announce their signing of a License Agreement to begin JCB merchant acquiring services in Singapore. Through the partnership, JCB card acceptance facilities will be available at CIMB merchants.

    With its ASEAN footprint firmly in place, CIMB is a befitting partner with JCBI on both the local and regional front. Having established similar collaborations in Malaysia and Indonesia, this new License Agreement extends the collaboration into other parts of Southeast Asia and enhances cooperation in the region.

    Tourism is a key contributor to the Singapore economy and the country is a popular destination for regional JCB cardmembers. This new merchant acquisition partnership with CIMB will bolster the JCB card acceptance network in the market and promote new merchants to JCBI’s rapidly expanding cardmember base from Asia during their stay in Singapore.

    Wirecard and Verifone Partner to Bring Complementary Payment Services and Solutions

    Wirecard AG and Verifone have entered into a strategic alliance to rapidly expand the point-of-sale market in Asia Pacific beginning with Indonesia. As the world’s fourth most populous country, Indonesia is considered one of the largest and fastest growing markets for payment solutions according to analysts.

    The five-year strategic alliance brings together the technology portfolio and geographic strengths of both companies through in-country companies like Wirecard’s PT Prima Vista Solusi and locally established Verifone teams, to enable financial institutions, retailers and various industry verticals to benefit from best-of-breed payment solutions.

    Though Indonesia is largely a cash-dominated society, the payment cards market is developing significantly with payments card transaction volume increasing by about 124 percent in 2015 as compared to 2010 according to the Lafferty Group.

    Wirecard brings mobile Tcash service to Indonesian retailers

    Wirecard’s Indonesian subsidiary PT Prima Vista Solusi has teamed up with PT Finnet Indonesia and PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) to support the acceptance of contactless, NFC-based electronic money “TCASH” at major retailers with their nationwide network.

    Customers at the retail stores can pay for their purchases and utility bills using their NFC mobile phones. Wirecard provides the NFC point-of-sale acceptance, which is integrated with the retailer’s front-end store system for optimal transaction speed and accuracy.TCASH is an electronic wallet product of Telkomsel, a subsidiary of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) and Singapore Telecommunication Ltd (SingTel). The wallet enables Telkomsel’s subscribers to pay for bills, goods and services through their mobile phones, which are embedded with the TCASH NFC stickers, both online as well as point-of-sales. Telkomsel is Indonesia’s largest cellular operator with network coverage of more than 95 percent of the population in Indonesia.PT Finnet Indonesia, a joint venture between Telkom (Cq. PT. Multimedia Nusantara) and Yayasan Kesejahteraan Karyawan Bank Indonesia (Cq. PT.     Carrefour Indonesia adopts new POS tech

    German tech company Wirecard has teamed up with an Indonesian bank to roll out new point-of-sale technology for Carrefour Indonesia.

    Wirecard, with its Indonesian subsidiary PT Prima Vista Solusi and Bank Mega have joined forces to support Carrefour Indonesia with innovative Point-of-Sale (POS) solution with integrated payment capability. Customers in all Indonesian Carrefour retail stores will be able to pay contactless with their NFC cards, credit cards or debit cards.

    The new system is chip and PIN ready, and enriched with value-added services such as installment payment and loyalty. Wirecard provides the complete technical infrastructure, which is integrated in the front-end store system at the retail stores, as well as the online payment processing over the Wirecard gateway, whereas Bank Mega is credit card acquirer.

    Carrefour Indonesia has almost 100 hypermarkets in 13 Indonesian provinces under the ownership of PT Trans Retail Indonesia. It serves some 500,000 customers each day, offering groceries, fresh products, electronics, cosmetics, textile and many other consumer products. Siva Kumar, commercial and marketing director with PT Trans Retail Indonesia said the company feels committed to restoring its customers’ purchasing power in Indonesia.
