    Apple brings its streaming service to Comcast devices in the US

    The partnership between Apple and Comcast enters a new era, as the Cupertino-based giant is bringing its streaming service to Comcast’s customers. In a joint statement earlier this week, the companies revealed that Apple TV+ will be available Comcast’s various platforms in the US.

    Starting this week, Apple TV+ will be available on Xfinity X1, Xfinity Flex, and XClass TV, but all eligible devices will be getting the streaming service in the coming days. The move follows Apple TV+’s launch on Sky devices like Sky Q and Sky Glass in the UK and Europe back in December.

    Furthermore, Comcast announced that between March 15 and March 21, its customers will benefit from a special offer, as Apple will provide Xfinity users with a preview of some of its most popular Apple TV+ original series and films across X1, Flex and Stream, no sign-up or sign-in required.

    Additionally, Xfinity customers will be able to watch the first seasons of many of Apple TV+’s popular shows, as well as the Apple Original film “Greyhound.”

    It’s worth noting that Xfinity customers who aren’t Apple TV+ subscribers are eligible for a three-month free trial of Apple TV+ when they sign-up via their Xfinity device by April 25.

    The newly added Apple TV+ service can be accessed by Xfinity customers by saying “Apple TV+” into the voice remote or by saying the name of a desired title from the streaming service.

    Amazon Music coming to Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex services

    Comcast has just confirmed it has come to an agreement with Amazon for the distribution of its music streaming service through its Xfinity X1 set-top box. The move is not a total surprise considering Comcast added Amazon Prime Video to the X1 series early this year.

    Amazon Music will be rolled out to Xfinity X1 in the coming weeks and will be available for free to Prime members. The service provides access to more than 2 million songs and thousands of playlists and stations. However, for on-demand access to over 50 million songs and even more playlists and stations through the Amazon Music Unlimited, you’ll have to pay $9.99 per month.

    Amazon Music has fierce competition on Xfinity X1, as other streaming music services like YouTube Music, Pandora, and iHeartRadio have been available on the platform for quite a while. Surprisingly, Spotify and Apple Music, some of the most popular services are missing from Comcast’s offering for the moment.

    The deal between the two companies mentions that Amazon Music will also be available through Comcast’s Flex service, which costs $5 per month per set-top box. In order to access Amazon Music on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex, simply say “Amazon Music” into the voice remote and you’ll soon be able to browse and listen to your favorite songs.

    Keep in mind though that you absolutely must own an Amazon Prime or Amazon Music Unlimited subscription to access the app on the Xfinity X1 set-top box. You’ll also have to pair your Amazon Music account regardless of whether or not you’re logged in to the Prime Video app on X1.

    Comcast beats Apple by announcing its own TV streaming service

    Comcast beats Apple to it and announces its own TV streaming, the Xfinity Flex. Although Apple’s TV service isn’t official yet, the latest report claims it will work just like Comcast’s when it comes to content.

    However, Comcast’s Xfinity Flex is available to Internet-only customers and for an extra monthly fee. The service promises to provide customers with an easy way to use their TV and voice control to manage all their connected devices in their home. Basically, if you’re an Xfinity Internet customer, starting next week, the Xfinity Flex service will be available to you in a package that contains an Internet-connect, 4K HDR streaming TV device.

    Along to the streaming TV device, the retail box will also include a voice remote, one integrated guide for accessing popular streaming video and music choices (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, Showtime, Pandora, iHeartRadio), along with Comcast’s home Wi-Fi, mobile, security, and automation services.

    The price is $5 per month and the subscription will give you access to more than 10,000 videos (TV shows and movies), as well as live TV from ESPN3, Xumo, Pluto, Tubi TV, Cheddar, and YouTube.

    On top of that, Comcast said that all Xfinity Flex customers will be able to upgrade to the full Xfinity X1 cable service directly from the guide, to get access to hundreds of live channels, tens of thousands of on-demand titles, and a cloud DVR.

    Keep in mind that if you’re an Xfinity Internet-only customer, you will have to pay the $5/month for the Xfinity Flex on top of what you’re already paying for your existing Internet plan.
