AirAsia X looking to expand into Europe

AirAsia X is looking into expanding its market and does not discount the possibility of re-entering the European market.

Chairman Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz said, before the company makes any decision, it needs to consider various factors including the operational costs and the projected revenue

“We must also look at the total picture whether it can meet the challenges such the changes in oil prices, the various taxes in Europe airports and so on.

“For example, the planes that were flying to London and Paris previously was not the right plane. The cost factor was the one that literally killed us from the market. Moving forward, we have to be realistic in making our decisions for

the long term,” she told reporters after the unveiling of its new A330neo aircraft at the 53rd International Paris Air Show here.

Rafidah said with the new planes which use more efficient engines, it would give added flexibility to the company to strategise and give better returns to its shareholders.

On when the aircraft would be in operation, she said it would be decided by the board of directors based on the proposal by the management.

Meanwhile, AirAsia X group chief executive officer, Nadda Buranasiri said the delivery of the A330neo aircraft would be in phases.

“We expect that Airbus would probably be able to provide us six aircraft a year,” he said.

The world’s leading low-cost carrier ordered a total of 100 A330-900 aircraft for RM122 billion from European planemaker Airbus, of which 66 aircraft are firmed orders and two on lease.

Buranasiri said it would take the first aircraft next month while the second aircraft would be delivered in August, to be based in its Thailand hub, Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok.

“We have not decided where the new fleet would fly to as we are still studying each market to understand the demand and how we could leverage it.

“We are working it out to ensure that it will be profitable to us, while at the same time, make our shareholders and passengers happy.

“We are not making excessive profits but it needs to have enough volumes,” he added.

Fresh capital for Vestiaire Collective to fund Asian expansion

Pre-owned luxury fashion retailer Vestiaire Collective has completed a €40 million round of financing led by BPIFrance and new CEO Max Bittner.

The new round is expected to facilitate the launch of new technology solutions for the fashion ecosystem, empower its community through the lens of its platform, and fuel continued international growth.

The investment will sustain Asian growth momentum where Vestiaire sees a 140 per cent GMV growth in the second quarter of this year, as well as the recent launch of numerous new markets including Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Brazil and Mexico.

Vestiaire Collective has expressed ambitions to revolutionise the industry, and will soon be launching tech and data-driven solutions to empower its global community, brands and retailers in driving the adoption of sustainable and circular consumption. • Amazon Music coming to Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex services

Amazon Music coming to Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex services

Comcast has just confirmed it has come to an agreement with Amazon for the distribution of its music streaming service through its Xfinity X1 set-top box. The move is not a total surprise considering Comcast added Amazon Prime Video to the X1 series early this year.

Amazon Music will be rolled out to Xfinity X1 in the coming weeks and will be available for free to Prime members. The service provides access to more than 2 million songs and thousands of playlists and stations. However, for on-demand access to over 50 million songs and even more playlists and stations through the Amazon Music Unlimited, you’ll have to pay $9.99 per month.

Amazon Music has fierce competition on Xfinity X1, as other streaming music services like YouTube Music, Pandora, and iHeartRadio have been available on the platform for quite a while. Surprisingly, Spotify and Apple Music, some of the most popular services are missing from Comcast’s offering for the moment.

The deal between the two companies mentions that Amazon Music will also be available through Comcast’s Flex service, which costs $5 per month per set-top box. In order to access Amazon Music on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex, simply say “Amazon Music” into the voice remote and you’ll soon be able to browse and listen to your favorite songs.

Keep in mind though that you absolutely must own an Amazon Prime or Amazon Music Unlimited subscription to access the app on the Xfinity X1 set-top box. You’ll also have to pair your Amazon Music account regardless of whether or not you’re logged in to the Prime Video app on X1.

AirAsia crowned world’s best Airline again

AirAsia has been named the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2019 for the 11th consecutive year.

The airline won the title based on a survey of over 21.6 million passengers of 100 nationalities and over 300 airlines between September last year and May.

  • Smart Ways to Start a Small Restaurant Business

Smart Ways to Start a Small Restaurant Business

Going into the restaurant business can be touch-and-go, since the restaurant industry can be quite volatile, especially for new ventures. That’s why it is essential to go into the restaurant business with clarity and purpose. Mistakes can cost money, so you want to ensure that you are fully prepared, financially capable, and in the know about the ins and outs of being a restaurant owner before you begin.

Restaurants are daily staples for many consumers. People go out to eat a lot, and it makes sense that high quality, popular restaurant would be an entrepreneur’s dream. Only without prior knowledge and expertise, things can go awry quickly. Below are some excellent tips on making sure that your restaurant journey will go smoothly and as planned.

    Have a Business Plan

Before you start your own restaurant, it is essential that you and your partners devise a business plan. You can usually get free help on your business plan from your local Small Business Administration or from your local Chamber of Commerce.

Business plans need to be meticulously written with all of the components for business success in mind. Your plan should not be any whimsical document.

Components of a good business plan includes a breakdown of the foods you’ll serve, your day-to-day operations, your potential customer base in the area, market analysis as well as competitor analysis, your start-up and marketing costs, your current operating capital, expense reports, your quarterly revenue projections needed to keep the restaurant running, and so forth.

Without a solid business plan, you can expect failure. Again, contact your local Small Business Administration or Chamber of Commerce to assist you in devising a proper plan. Proper planning also means reaching out to companies who you will most likely have to pay to conduct market analysis, for instance, so be sure to factor these expenses into your overall budget.

    Concept and Competition

As mentioned previously, people like to go out to eat. That’s why there are restaurants on every corner and nearly everywhere we look. Before you start a restaurant business, be sure to consider the competition in your area and the concepts they are using and the value they deliver. What are you going to do differently.

Usually, this requires that you come up with a clear vision, a value statement, and a mission. Your vision is what you want your restaurant to become. Your value statement tells you and your customers what type of value you will bring to them and your community. Your mission is your daily goals to meet this value and your overall vision. It’s very important you put time into determining these components for yourself and your restaurant.

Once you figure out what your mission, vision, and value will be, you will and a theme for your restaurant. Brand and theme should accent vision, mission, and value. They will go hand-in-hand and should be transparent to the customer, who should be able to see your intent based on day-to-day operations and the quality of your service. Coming up with brand and theme can require serious thought. Again, seek out professional advice and the advice of partners when in doubt.

    Menu Selection

Along with your concept and your brand, the foods you select for your menu should mirror your intentions and your theme. For instance, if you decide to start a fast-food restaurant, the food you choose should be able to be prepared fast and convenient. If your goal is to provide fine dining and elegance, the food preparation can take longer, but the taste and experience should be part of the value you offer.

As you’re coming up with your business plan, vision, and theme, start to think of the best foods you could serve, your own capabilities as a restaurateur and chef, and what is within your comfort zone and financial means. You wouldn’t want to start a five-star restaurant if you aren’t competent at cooking gourmet food and only have a shoestring budget. Think within your means and your capabilities.

Also consider your restaurant’s location, your potential customers, and how your menu will impact your business plan. Some types of food do better in certain locations, while others do not. You wouldn’t want to open up a restaurant that won’t do well financially in a particular area, even if that is your passion. Analyze your competitors in the area, and find what works.

    Investing In Your Restaurant

Once you feel like you’re ready to proceed with opening your own restaurant, you’ll want to ensure that you have the funds to do so. Many entrepreneurs believe in OPM or “other people’s money,” and they’ll reach out to investors to secure start-up capital. This is always a personal decision, as some people do quite well as borrowing money, while others would rather save up their own money before venturing into entrepreneurship.

Either way, you’ll need to look at your business plan to ensure that you have the right amount of start-up capital before you begin. Many businesses don’t turn a profit until their third year, so it’s always wise to have at least enough capital to maintain operations for three years. This should include the cost of the lease, equipment and employee costs, food costs, and maintenance costs. Again, you’ll need to make sure your business plan is solid so that you don’t feel financially short before the business is given time to turn a profit.

    Finding Suppliers

For food, you’ll need to find local suppliers who can deliver directly to your restaurant. For most of your equipment needs, you can order directly to find the best prices. Equipment can include anything for your kitchen, from ovens to tables and chairs to dinnerware. When selecting dinnerware, Macy Hooper from VEGA Direct https://www.vegadirect.ca/) suggests choosing a stylish set that is also durable. Durability is important for budgeting purposes, as you’ll have to purchase new dinnerware less often when you choose long-lasting dinnerware at the beginning. This is important when choosing other suppliers as well, as you’ll want to make sure any equipment you purchase will last and cut down on future replacement costs. Always make sure you research suppliers for the best possible deals and equipment.

    Find Your Location

There is a lot of synergy to the process, as components of your business plan may hinge on your concept and theme, and vice versa. The location you choose is no different. You may not know how to plan for your restaurant until you’re sure of its future location, so scouting a good location may be necessary at the beginning of the process. Honestly, you may want to start a restaurant only because you found a location that sparked your interest in opening an eatery.

Once you do find a great location for your restaurant, be sure to discuss your lease and other information with the owner. Of course, this information will need to go into your business plan. Also, you’ll need to check with your local government agencies to make sure you obtain the right licenses and permits for your restaurant.

Be sure to pick a location that is in a great area, visible from the road, and preferably convenient to business locations so that you’ll always have a steady lunch crowd. Make sure that there is plenty of parking, that the building meets your standards, and that it provides the right atmosphere for your concept and theme.

    Hiring Employees

Hiring employees is no easy task, so make sure you account for this information in your business plan. You’ll most likely need a head chef, a cashier, a floor manager, wait staff, and a dishwasher. Some restaurants can get by with only a few people doing multiple jobs, while others will require numerous employees. However, take into consideration that some states require certain licenses for food employees, so be prepared to invest in your new hires by offering training through programs like 360’s food handler training course.

    Advertising and Opening

You’ll want to advertise your restaurant in the local yellow pages, on nearby billboards, through flyers and mailers, and digitally on the web. Your advertising budget should be accounted for in your business plan. You may also want to consult an advertising firm.

Most restaurants will have a soft opening to make sure things are running smoothly. Soft openings give restaurants time to work out the kinks and increase efficiency. Once you feel like everything is going well and you’re ready to open full-time, you’ll want to announce your grand opening. The Chamber of Commerce and other business organizations can assist with grand openings and publicity. It’s also suggested you offer coupons and other discounts for your grand opening to get more people in the door.

  • Most Affordable Harley-Davidson Will Be A 338 cc Motorcycle

Most Affordable Harley-Davidson Will Be A 338 cc Motorcycle

Harley-Davidson confirmed the development of a small capacity motorcycle earlier this year and now the American bike maker has officially released details of what will be its smallest motorcycle yet. Harley has joined hands with China-based company – Qianjang Motorcycle – and willl be building a 338 cc naked motorcycle. The bike will be manufactured in China, one of the biggest auto markets in the world, and will be exported to a number of countries including India. Harley has also released a render image of the 338 cc motorcycle, which is more of an aggressive street-naked than the traditional cruiser design that the manufacturer is known for.

Speaking about what will be most affordable offering from the company, Matt Levatich, President and CEO, Harley-Davidson said, “Harley-Davidson has always been about inspiring riders around the world. Our More Roads plan is all about bringing our brand of freedom to more people, in more places, in more ways. We’re excited about this opportunity to build more Harley riders in China, one of the world’s largest motorcycle markets, by creating new pathways to our brand.”

The upcoming Harley-Davidson 338 cc naked will be co-developed by the US-based manufacturer and Qianjang. The styling is a mix between a street-fighter and a scrambler, and is more of an urban naked. Considering that a lot of potential buyers for the upcoming offering will be young first-time Harley owners, the company will aim to provide a mix of old and new in design and technology. Although not much has been said about the underpinnings of the new motorcycle, the bike is likely to be underpinned by a Trellis frame with possibly a liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor, telescopic front forks, dual disc brakes and an analogue instrument console with a digital readout.

The new Harley 338 cc motorcycle will be launched in China first by the end of 2020, and is likely to make it to other parts of Asia and other emerging markets by 2021. That’s also when we expect the India launch to take place with the model likely to be locally assembled at the company’s Haryana-based facility. With its smallest offering, Harley will be taking on Royal Enfield as well as the models to be produced under the Bajaj-Triumph alliance in the 350 cc cruiser segment. Royal Enfield currently rules this space growing aggressively in the middleweight motorcycle segment worldwide. Expect prices to be around the ₹ 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom) mark for the entry-level Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

  • Rakuten Japan Testing autonomous delivery robots

Rakuten Japan Testing autonomous delivery robots

A Japanese collective including Yamato Transport and Rakuten will partner with the Japanese government in a road test of autonomous delivery robots.

A government-appointed team will monitor the testing to identify potential issues, with a special focus on safety concerns, as well as considering new operating rules for inclusion in the Road Traffic Act. The team includes representatives from Mitsubishi Estate, Japan Post, Panasonic and self-driving tech firm ZMP, as well as officials from the National Police Agency, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and local governments.

Japan’s logistics sector, under pressure from burgeoning online sales, is currently experiencing a shortage in labour that could be answered with robot delivery units equipped with cameras and GPS capabilities, giving rise to industrial opportunities for robotic systems developers.

The tests are expected to be wound up by March next year.

  • Hidden code reveals that Xiaomi could be first to use this sensor on a phone

Hidden code reveals that Xiaomi could be first to use this sensor on a phone

Remember when you walked around, feeling like the King of the neighborhood because your Samsung Behold had a 5MP camera on back? While a bigger megapixel count doesn’t necessarily translate to better pictures, today we have phones like the OnePlus 7 Pro carrying around a 48MP primary sensor. And if XDA is right, Xiaomi will be the first to release a phone with a 64MP camera sensor on the back.

Strings of code that XDA discovered on the latest version of the MIUI 10 Camera app make references to a 64MP “ultra-pixel” mode. They also allude to a 64MP Dual Camera. Right now, Samsung has the only 64MP sensor announced. That would be the ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor with a small pixel size of 0.8μm. Samsung unveiled the sensor last month noting that under bright lighting conditions it can produce 64MP photos. When lighting conditions are not as favorable, the sensor merges four pixels into one to create a better quality 16MP image. The GW1 sensor will record video in 1080p (FHD) at 480fps allowing it to support “smooth cinematic slow-motion videos.” Samsung’s sensor also supports real-time high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 100-decibels (dB). That compares to the 60 decibels found on many handsets and the human eye’s 120 decibels.

The code discovered by XDA dovetails with a leak from tipster Ice Universe who posted on Weibo a few days ago about a “mysterious” Redmi model (made by Xiaomi) that will be the first to use Sammy’s 64MP sensor. While the upcoming Galaxy Note 10 series will not feature it, we could see the 64MP GW1 sensor also employed on the upcoming Galaxy A70 mid-range handset.

  • Huawei reportedly cuts shipments of its phones

Huawei reportedly cuts shipments of its phones

After being banned from accessing its U.S. supply chain, Huawei decided in May to stop taking orders for its low and mid-range handsets that aren’t powered by the company’s Kirin chipsets. Huawei has reportedly stockpiled a year’s worth of chips and components in anticipation of such a ban, it is now cutting shipments of its higher-end handsets. The report states that earlier this month, the company started cutting orders for the Huawei P30 line, which includes the P30 Pro. The latter is the manufacturer’s most premium handset at the moment. While U.S. carriers can’t stock Huawei’s phones,  earlier this year retailer B&H offered U.S. consumers the Latin American version of the P30, P30 Pro and P30 Lite adding a one-year U.S. warranty. However, since the U.S. ban, B&H has stopped selling these models.

Today’s report notes that Huawei has also started cutting orders for the upcoming Mate 30 series. Not expected out until October, the line includes the Huawei Mate 30 Pro; this model would normally be considered Huawei’s most technologically advanced phone of the year. With the ban, it isn’t clear what new features will be included in the device. Currently, expectations call for the Mate 30 Pro to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution. The device could be equipped with a pair of chips from Huawei’s HiSilicon unit, namely the Kirin 985 SoC and the Balong 5000 5G modem chip.

Barring a sudden removal from the U.S. Entity List, Huawei’s new phones will most likely ship with its own HongmengOS (aka ArkOS) pre-installed. Huawei has its own app distribution platform called App Gallery, but it remains to be seen how much developer support ArkOS will get.

Internally, Huawei expects its international phone shipments to drop by 40% to 60% this year. Of the 206 million units it delivered in 2018, about half were shipped out of China; that means that the company believes it will see total shipments drop by as many as 60 million handsets this year. Just last quarter, the manufacturer shipped 59 million smartphones worldwide, up over 50% year-over-year. At that pace, Huawei was on track to deliver just under 240 million units for 2019. Now the company is looking at a figure in the neighborhood of 140 million to 160 million smartphones. While Huawei planned on becoming the top smartphone manufacturer in the world next year, that goal will have to be scrapped for now.

Once Huawei uses up the inventory of Kirin chips it does have, things are going to get tough for the company. With chip design firm ARM Holdings cutting ties with Huawei (the company is headquartered in the U.K. but uses some American technology), the company might have to turn to an open source replacement. And the software from U.S. companies that the manufacturer uses to design its chips will also have to be replaced. While Huawei apparently did have the foresight to develop its own operating system and stockpile chips and key parts, it appears that the company might not have alternate plans for everything it needs to be self-sufficient.

For those coming in late, Huawei ended up in this predicament because of U.S. lawmakers’ fears that the company’s products will spy on American corporations and consumers. Under Chinese law, the communist government can demand that Huawei gather intelligence on its behalf. Huawei has repeatedly denied that its phones and networking equipment contain any sort of backdoors; its chairman, Liang Hua, said back in February that if the Chinese government asks him to spy, he will defy them. The executive added last month that he would sign a no-spy document with any country. Ironically, that took place on the same day that the U.S. first announced Huawei’s placement on the Entity List.

While U.S. President Donald Trump admitted in May that Huawei was placed on the list for security reasons, he added that “it’s possible that Huawei even would be included in some kind of a trade deal. If we made a deal, I could imagine Huawei being possibly included in some form, some part of a trade deal. It would look very good for us.” At this point, Huawei brass is probably hoping that the U.S. uses the company as a bargaining chip to obtain better terms from China in a new trade agreement. After all, the president was able to save ZTE from its U.S. export ban and it too is considered a national security threat.

  • YouTube and Universal Music clean up Adam Levine, Lady Gaga and other artists

YouTube and Universal Music clean up Adam Levine, Lady Gaga and other artists

If you were worried that your kids and their kids will never get to enjoy the music video for the late Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’” in high quality, you can now stop thinking about that and concentrate on more important matters. Google announced yesterday on the YouTube blog that it is teaming up with Universal Music Group to remaster and upgrade some of the most iconic music videos of all time. This includes the 30-year-old Tom Petty video.

According to Google, 100 videos have already been remastered and now offer the highest quality audio and video. Artists in this group include Billy Idol, Beastie Boys, Boyz II Men, George Strait, Janet Jackson, Kiss, Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, Lionel Richie, Maroon 5, Meat Loaf, No Doubt/Gwen Stefani, Smokey Robinson, The Killers, and the aforementioned Tom Petty. Every week over the next year, more videos will be worked on until a total of 1,000 music videos are “painstakingly” remastered to the highest possible standards. The work will be complete by sometime next year.

You’ll know which videos have been upgraded because they will have a “Remastered” label in the description and will shift from SD (standard definition) to HD. Besides “Free Fallin’” some of the other videos that have already been upgraded include the music videos for the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” and Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” Believe it or not, it has been 25 years and 10 years respectively since those two videos were first released.

“It’s really an honor to partner with Universal Music Group and change the way fans around the globe will experience viewing some of the most classic and iconic videos. The quality is truly stunning. It’s our goal to ensure that today’s music videos — true works of art — meet the high-quality standards that artists’ works deserve and today’s music fans expect. For years, some of the greatest music videos in YouTube’s catalog have been available only in the outdated standards originally intended for tube televisions with mono speakers. With this new initiative, we’re upgrading videos, vastly improving the viewing experience, whether on mobile, desktop or living room screens. The new videos will seamlessly replace the original versions on both YouTube and within YouTube Music, while retaining the same url, view-counts and ‘likes.’-Stephen Bryan, Global Head of Label Relations, YouTube.

Google compares these music videos to “priceless paintings or sculptures in museums” noting that even museum quality art needs some TLC every now and then.

  • Kia Seltos Teased Again Ahead Of India Debut

Kia Seltos Teased Again Ahead Of India Debut

It was February 2018 when Kia Motors showcased the SP Concept, which was supposed to be the first Kia offering in India. Needless to say, it was an SUV too. Fast forward a year and a half and Kia Motors India is all set to take the wraps off the Kia Seltos, the first model from Kia for India. The company has been releasing teasers of the Kia Seltos SUV for some time now and the latest teaser reveals certain features on the SUV along with insight into the design language as well. The latest teaser video of the Kia Seltos reveals in-cabin features such as steering mounted controls for audio and cruise control. There is climate control along with analogue tachometer and speedometer. Plus the Seltos Compact SUV also gets front parking sensors along with a sunroof, not a panoramic one, but similar to the one on the Hyundai Creta.

Spy images of the Kia Seltos’ interior reveal piano black finish inserts on the dashboard, black leather seats and rear AC vents. The front and rear seats both get hand rests for added convenience, while there are a couple of cup holders and storage spaces. Kia Motors India has already confirmed a number of features on the upcoming Seltos SUV that will include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, head-up display (HUD), MID, cruise control and more. The model will also come with ambient lighting, electronic parking brake, hill assist and multiple driving modes.

As far as exterior design is concerned, the Kia Seltos will feature Kia’s signature ‘Tiger-Nose’ grille along with LED headlamps and stylish fog lamps which are vertical. Also, we expect the top trims of the Seltos to have a dual-tone colour scheme (The roof having a different colour). The design of the 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels is also different from that of the concept model. The teaser video also shows the Seltos taking on some off-road terrain but we don’t know if the SUV will get an off-road kit such as driving modes, AWD or anything on those lines.

The Kia Seltos will get a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel and both engines will get manual and automatic gearbox options. It may be possible that Kia also offer a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine which could have a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. As far as competition is concerned, the Kia Seltos will be going up against the likes of the Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur and its sister model, the Hyundai Creta. The top-spec models of the Kia Seltos could also rival the MG Hector and the Jeep Compass.

Formerly identified by its codename AM-RB 003, Aston Martin’s latest mid-engined hypercar collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies and Adrian Newey has been officially named the Aston Martin Valhalla. Named after the warrior’s paradise celebrated in ancient Norse mythology, Valhalla employs a lightweight construction method and radical aerodynamics pioneered in the Valkyrie. The Valhalla will be propelled by a combination of a high-efficiency, high-output turbocharged V6 petrol engine and a battery-electric hybrid system. Of course, it’s a limited edition model and only 500 examples of this all-carbon fibre hypercar will be built.

Together with the recently announced Vanquish Vision Concept, Valhalla continues this proud, seven decade old ‘V’ car naming strategy, providing an evocative and powerful moniker fit for one of the world’s most compelling ultra-high performance cars.

Aston Martin Lagonda President and Group Chief Executive Officer, Andy Palmer said, “Aston Martin model names always attract a lot of attention. They do so because they invariably capture an emotion or tell a story. In following the Valkyrie we knew the Aston Martin Valhalla needed to make a strong statement of its own, yet also offer continuity and a clear connection. Norse mythology contains such powerful language and rich storytelling it felt only right that the AM-RB 003 should follow the Valkyrie’s theme. For those fortunate enough to own one I’m sure they will recognise and appreciate the name’s connotations of glory and happiness, for there can be few more hallowed places than the driver’s seat of an Aston Martin Valhalla.”

Prada Thunder pop-up Store opens at Harbour City

Luxury fashion house Prada has launched a pop-up store at Atrium II in Harbour City to introduce its Prada Thunder project.

The store showcases a selection of ready to wear, bags, shoes and accessories for men and women, featuring Prada Menswear and Womenswear Fall/Winter 2019 prints designed by artist Jeanne Detallante exclusively for the brand. Symbols from the Frankenstein’s monster universe as well as his Bride – the heart, the electric rose and the thunder – are used to augment these original items sold in matching packaging.

The Prada Thunder pop up will remain open until July 1, dedicated to the theme and inspired by “the romantic and gothic atmosphere” of the collection. A wallpaper – entitled Alternating Currents – depicts silhouettes of male and female figures against a glowing vista of moorlands and cliffs, while display cases and dimly illuminated transparent tables evoke the concept of a surreal laboratory.

Prada Thunder will also be presented in Prada’s Canton Road store with a special display from July 2 to 28.
