    Gasoline prices return to 4-month low

    Gasoline prices on Thursday afternoon plunged to the lowest since Jan. 18 after rising marginally last week.

    The popular fuel RON95 fell 3.02% to VND22,510 ($0.88) per liter. Biofuel E5 RON92 declined by 2.33% to VND21,750.

    Diesel dropped 0.45% to VND19,740, the lowest since Jan. 11.

    Regulators said that prices fluctuated in the last seven days due to weakening U.S. dollar and concerns that the U.S. will keep its interest rate unchanged for a long time. OPEC+ is expected to maintain its policy to limit supply in the upcoming meeting in early June. Global gasoline prices fell 3.2-3.8% in the last seven days.

    Biofuel E5 RON92 declined by 1.05% to VND22,510.

    Diesel dropped 1.44% to VND20,470.

    In the last seven days fuel prices swinged due to concerns that China would struggle to regain growth momentum, a rise in gold and cryptocurrency investment, and a reduction in OPEC production.

    Globally gasoline prices dropped by 1.8-2.1% per barrel while oils dropped 1.1-1.9%.

    Gasoline and diesel prices fell Thursday afternoon as global demand is forecast to fall this year.

    The popular gasoline RON95 dropped 1.34% from a week ago to VND23,590 per liter.

    Biofuel E5 RON92 fell 1.58% to VND22,470. Diesel declined by 2.11% to VND20,910.

    RON95 fell 2% to $99.7 per barrel and diesel dropped 3% to $105.03.

    Gasoline prices soar

    Gasoline and diesel prices both rose Thursday afternoon as global rates increased during the last seven days.

    The popular fuel RON95 went up 2.79% to VND23,910 ($0.98) per liter.

    Biofuel E5 RON 95 gained 3.21%r to VND22,830.

    Diesel rose 3.18% to VND21,360.

    A decline in production at U.S. refineries also caused prices to go up by 2.5-4.3%, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

    RON95 increased by 3.5% to $101.8 per barrel. Diesel rose 3.6% to $108.15.

    On Thursday, gasoline and diesel prices climbed for the second week, with gasoline being at the highest since early December.

    The popular gasoline RON95 rose 2.51% to VND22,480 per liter, the highest since Dec. 7.

    Diesel increased by 2.49% to VND20,190, the highest since Nov. 23.

    Gasoline prices rose globally in the last seven days due to escalating tension in the Middle East and a slower-than-expected recovery in China’s economy. Red Sea conflicts and the surge of the U.S. dollar were also contributing factors, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, which control gasoline prices.

    RON95 rose 2.7% to $101.43 per barrel, while diesel rose 2.4% to $100.84.

    Gasoline prices soar to new heights in 2023

    Gasoline prices on Thursday rose to another new peak this year while diesel prices continued to climb.

    The popular gasoline RON95 went up 3.5% to VND25,740 ($1.06) per liter. This was its seventh increase in the last two months.

    RON95 has risen by around 10% since the beginning of the year.

    Biofuel RON92 rose 3.07% to VND24,190.

    Diesel went up 2.34% VND23,590.

    Authorities said that global prices have been rising in the last 10 days due to increasing demand as OPEC+ countries limited their supply.

    RON92 went up 4.7% to $107.95 per barrel, while RON95 rose 4.6% to $114.02. Oils increased by 1.8%-3.4% per barrel.

    Diesel price went up 1.81% to VND23,050 per liter on Monday, continuing its climb, which began four months ago.

    The fuel has seen its price increase by over 30% since May 11.

    Authorities said that fuel prices have been fluctuating amid concerns about tightened fuel supply after Russia extended its production cut as OPEC+ countries continued to scale down production, while China’s demand recovery has been slower than expected.

    RON92 gasoline fell 0.1% to $103,14 per barrel last week, while RON95 dropped 0.16% to $108.94.

    Gasoline prices continued to rise on Tuesday and reached the highest since August last year.

    The popular RON95 was 1.10% higher at VND24,870 per liter.

    Biofuel RON92 price went up 0.60% to VND23,470.

    Diesel price also increased by 1.30% to VND22,640 per liter.

    Globally RON92 price went up 0.50% in the last two weeks to $103.25 per barrel, while RON95 rose 0.70% to $109.23, as Russia intended to cut its oil exports.

    Diesel was nearly 2% more expensive in the period at $118.82 per barrel.
